Make a strong password, then send it as a link that burns after one read.
How it works
The password comes from your browser's own random number source, crypto.getRandomValues. Generating one makes no request to our server, and neither does Regenerate or any option. When you create a link, the browser encrypts the password and sends us only the encrypted text.
Each bit doubles the guesses an attacker needs. With all four character types, 8 characters give about 51 bits and 16 give about 104. The default is 20 characters without look-alikes or awkward symbols. That gives about 127.
Avoid look-alikes drops 0, O, 1, l and I. People mix those up when they read a password aloud or copy it off a screen. Safe symbols only drops quotes, the backtick, the backslash and angle brackets. Some login forms and config files reject or mangle those.
If a password is missing one of the types you switched on, the page throws it away and draws a new one. It never puts a character in a fixed position, so no position is easier to guess.
Sending it
Links from this page last a week and burn after one read, unless you change that. Send the link by email and the username by text or chat. Then no single message holds both. You also get a receipt. It shows whether the password is still waiting, and you can burn it early from there.
